LABORATOIRE DE GENIE CHIMIQUE - LGC, UNIVERSITY OF TOULOUSE

Contactors, Mixing & Microstructured Technology, Department of Science & Technology for Process Intensification

This group is lead by Dr. Joëlle Aubin and Dr. Martine Poux. The research focuses on the study of mixing and hydrodynamics in conventional equipment, such as stirred tanks and static mixers, and in more novel devices like microreactors and continuous oscillatory flow reactors. Studies range from complex laminar mixing to turbulent multiphase (gas-liquid, liquid-liquid) mixing applications. Advanced experimental tools, such as PIV, microPIV, LIF, and high-speed imaging, and CFD simulations (ANSYS-CFX/FLUENT) are used to characterize the impact of equipment geometry on the hydrodynamics, mixing, phase contacting, transport phenomena, and process performance.
